Today, my dad went on a business trip. In the morning, when I woke up, Dad had already packed his suitcase. He wore a neat suit, looking very serious and handsome. He told me and Mom that he would be away for three days to attend an important meeting in another city.
Before leaving, Dad hugged me tightly and said, "Son, while Im gone, you need to listen to Mom and finish your homework on time. Can you do that for me?" I nodded my head vigorously and promised him I would be a good boy.
After breakfast, we walked Dad to the door. I felt a little sad seeing him go but also a bit excited because Mom said we could have ice cream for dinner as a special treat since Dad wasnt home to say no. As Dads car disappeared around the corner, I waved goodbye with a mix of feelings in my heart.
In the evening, after finishing my homework, I called Dad. He told me about the city he was in and how different it was from ours. I shared with him what happened at school today, including the funny joke our teacher told in class. We both laughed, even though we were far apart.
I miss my dad, but I know hes working hard for our family. I hope he comes back soon with interesting stories to tell.

After dinner, Mum and I helped Dad pack his suitcase. We put in his clothes, a book he likes to read, and his toothbrush. I also secretly put my favorite toy car in, hoping it will keep Dad company on his trip. Dad laughed when he found it and kissed me on the forehead, saying it was the best surprise he could get.
When it was time for Dad to leave, we all went to the door together. I waved goodbye and blew him a kiss. As the car disappeared around the corner, I whispered to myself, "Be safe, Daddy, and come back soon."
