3. Review and learn the main sentences and useful expressions in this topic about robots, UFOs and the Internet.
4. Review the past continuous tense:
(1)A UFO flew over my head while I was walking toward the bus stop yesterday.
(2)Last night, while Jim was sleeping, he saw a UFO flying over his head.
5. Review certainty and uncertainty:
(1)I’m sure robots can do some work faster and better than humans.
(2)I’m not sure whether/if robots will make humans lose their jobs.

Step 1Review 第一步復(fù)習(xí)(時(shí)間:15分鐘)
復(fù)習(xí)并用chant導(dǎo)入新課,合理運(yùn)用教材,提高課堂教學(xué)效率。
1. (教師先播放4錄音,完成4。)
(播放幾遍錄音后,師生共同chant。活躍氣氛,激發(fā)興趣。)
2. (通過(guò)師生對(duì)話復(fù)習(xí)關(guān)于robots, UFOs和Internet的目標(biāo)語(yǔ)言。)
(1)(關(guān)于robots。)
T: OK. Please stop. You sang this song very well. I know most of you have a dream of being a flying man. But now, you can’t. So you must study hard. Let’s review “robots” and make a dialog by yourselves.
T: Hi, S1 and S2! Could you tell me something about robots?
S1&S2: OK.
S1: When did the scientists invent the first robot?
S2: In 1921.
S1: What can robots do for us?
S2: They can do some dangerous work instead of humans. They can help us carry things and mend roads.
S1: Are you sure robots can make humans lazy?
S2: Yes, I am sure.
S1: Are you sure robots can take the place of humans in the future?
S2: No, I’m not sure.
T:We talked about the robots. Next let’s talk about the UFOs.

T:S3, are you sure there are UFOs in the world?
S3: Yes, I am sure. They look like plates.
T:Where do you often get the information about the UFOs?
S3: I often get it through books and TV.
T:What about you, S4? Are you sure there are UFOs in the world?
S4: No, I’m not sure.
T:Why do you think so?
S4: Because until now, nobody has really seen UFOs, and even scientists aren’t sure whether there are UFOs.
T:Next let’s talk about the Internet.

T:S5, what do you think of the Internet?
S5: It’s wonderful and interesting.
T:What do you often do on the Internet?
S5: I do the shopping, listen to music, see movies, play games, study, download useful information and write e-mails.
T:Do you spend too much time on the Internet?
S5: No, I don’t.
T:Good. The Internet is very interesting, but we shouldn’t spend too much time on it, or we can’t study well.
3. (教師呈現(xiàn)圖片復(fù)習(xí)現(xiàn)在進(jìn)行時(shí)和過(guò)去進(jìn)行時(shí)。)
(1)(教師手拿圖片,圖片的背面對(duì)著學(xué)生,然后叫一名學(xué)生到前面來(lái),根據(jù)看到的圖片做出動(dòng)作,讓其他學(xué)生猜出其動(dòng)作的含義。)
T: Look at this picture, and do the action.
S1手持話筒做唱歌狀。)
T: Guess like this: Are you…?
S2:Are you speaking?
S1:No.
S2:Are you singing a song?
S1:Yes, I am.
(學(xué)生就其他三幅圖進(jìn)行對(duì)話,復(fù)習(xí)現(xiàn)在進(jìn)行時(shí)。)
(2)(練完之后,教師給予學(xué)生鼓勵(lì),并過(guò)渡到過(guò)去進(jìn)行時(shí)。)
(假設(shè)以上這些圖片顯示的是S1生日晚會(huì)上學(xué)生們所做的事情。讓學(xué)生就圖片情景進(jìn)行轉(zhuǎn)換練習(xí)。)

(3)(學(xué)生練完之后,教師鼓勵(lì)學(xué)生總結(jié)現(xiàn)在進(jìn)行時(shí)與過(guò)去進(jìn)行時(shí)。)
Step 2Presentation 第二步呈現(xiàn)(時(shí)間:10分鐘)
在情景中引出新的語(yǔ)言點(diǎn),并在情景中練習(xí)和鞏固。
T: Look at the picture in 1. Who are they? And what are they doing? Please complete the conversation.
1. (學(xué)生補(bǔ)全對(duì)話,結(jié)合上下文猜出詞義,教師給予指導(dǎo)并板書生詞,要求學(xué)生掌握:plug in;理解:press, button, plug, useless。)

T: OK. After managing the problem of the computer, let’s discuss something about the Internet. At first please read the sentences as quickly as you can, then listen to 2 carefully and mark True (T) or False (F).

Step 3Consolidation 第三步鞏固(時(shí)間:7分鐘)
學(xué)生通過(guò)聽讀3a和3b,鞏固本話題目標(biāo)語(yǔ)言。
1. (讓學(xué)生聽3a錄音,完成3a。)
(1) (學(xué)生跟讀3a,熟記本話題的目標(biāo)語(yǔ)言。)
(2) (讓學(xué)生運(yùn)用肯定和不肯定句式表演對(duì)話,鞏固be sure用法。)

S1:Are you sure there are UFOs in the world?

2. (讓學(xué)生聽3b錄音,跟讀3b。并要求學(xué)生記住有用的表達(dá)方式。)
Step 4Practice 第四步練習(xí)(時(shí)間:5分鐘)
根據(jù)圖片,復(fù)習(xí)進(jìn)行時(shí),并掌握while的用法。
1. (教師展示圖片,讓學(xué)生運(yùn)用過(guò)去進(jìn)行時(shí)看圖造句。)

Step 5Project 第五步綜合探究活動(dòng)(時(shí)間:8分鐘)
完成5。通過(guò)多種方式培養(yǎng)學(xué)生運(yùn)用本話題的語(yǔ)法及功能語(yǔ)進(jìn)行寫作的能力。
1. (教師展示圖片,設(shè)置場(chǎng)景,為學(xué)生練習(xí)對(duì)話打好基礎(chǔ),教師可以先作示范。)
T:What’s this in English?
S1: It’s a computer.
T:What can computers do for us?
S1: We can use computers for surfing the Internet.
(教師依次呈現(xiàn)機(jī)器人和小汽車的圖片,讓學(xué)生練習(xí)對(duì)話。)

People use robots for doing boring jobs.
People use cars for carrying themselves from one place to another.
2. (將班上學(xué)生分成兩組,然后讓他們展開想象,介紹自己的發(fā)明,并用英語(yǔ)對(duì)其發(fā)明物的外觀及用途進(jìn)行描述。)
