Beowulf is the nephew of king of the Geats who lives in Denmark. He defeated the monster, which raided the hall built by the king of the Danes. Later on, Beowulf becomes king of the Geats. He at last dies a heroic death.
It is a pagan poem, which presents us an all-round picture of the tribal society.

Today I watched the movie 'Sherlock Holmes',perhaps the most well-known detective movie in the world.I love to watch the Holmes detecive series since childhood and I am familiar with every case he solved.The movie enthralls me bacause it shows the other side of Holmes.In the movie he was not only intelligent,but also romantic and mascular.
The movie may altered the image of Holmes,yet I found it entertaining as it contains many interesting elements--fights,romance and adventure.I would like to see more alteration of this kind.

Forrest Gump is so unique because of the character Forrest Gump himself,who has a low IQ of only 75.I love that Forrest doesn't lose his innocence and purity throughout the movie,or maybe he just can't but either way,this shows you don't need to be evil or really intelligent to be recognised or successful.It is just a movie,so maybe it doesn't work like that in reality.
What that simply means is that the acting and story of this film was incredibly touching on a real level.And in my definition that's what a good movie should be able to do.

War Horse was such a wonderful movie. This movie exceeded my expectations. It was moving, emotional, beautiful, and so heartwarming. It's sure to become a classic. You don't have to be a horse lover to love this movie.
There isn't a lot of blood, but you can still see the horrors of war and how intense it was for the soldiers and horses, as well as civilians. The Battle of the Somme scene was especially intense.
The acting was wonderful, the cinematography was beautiful, John Williams' score was perfect, and the horses were so well trained! Spielberg has made a masterpiece!
